A longtime Costco shopper says buying in bulk still saves her money even though she's only shopping for a two-person household, according to Business Insider.

Rebecca Kaplan told Business Insider she regularly stocks up on staples including toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, eggs, chicken nuggets, canned tuna, and white bread. She said she buys Kirkland Signature toilet paper, paying $25 for 30 rolls on her most recent trip.

Kaplan said she turned to Costco for eggs after the average price of a dozen eggs rose to a record-high $6.23 in early 2025, and now typically buys a 24-count package of large white eggs there instead.
