SF Product Director Turns Weekend Hikes Into $10,000-A-Month Founder Community
Alena Beliauskaya built 12 Scrappy Founders out of frustration with transactional networking events, now banking $2,000 to $3,000 in monthly profit.
Alena Beliauskaya, a 37-year-old product director at Wolf Games in San Francisco, turned weekend hikes, backpacking trips and dirt biking outings into a paid community called 12 Scrappy Founders that now generates more than $10,000 a month in revenue, according to Business Insider.
Beliauskaya said she started hosting her own outdoor meetups after finding networking events too transactional, with attendees opening conversations by asking what her goal was there. After 15 years working in startups, she built the group around founders whose problems she understood firsthand. The community now nets her $2,000 to $3,000 in monthly profit through paid memberships and sponsored events.
