Universal Says It Will Still Release Elon Musk Documentary in Theaters

Comcast's Universal says it remains committed to releasing the Elon Musk documentary "Musk" in theaters outside the United States, according to Business Insider.

The statement came after The Hollywood Reporter suggested Universal was having second thoughts about the release due to Musk's ties to the Trump administration, Business Insider reports. Universal representative Evan Langweiler denied that account, saying the studio is "currently working through a release strategy."

Distributor Bleecker Street will show the film in U.S. theaters starting October 9, according to the report, while Universal has not announced an international release date. The documentary was made by filmmaker Alex Gibney, whose past subjects include Steve Jobs.
