Two AI Travel Startups Both Named 'Soar' Clash Over The Brand
Stanley Virgint says a rival copied his startup's name, logo concept and business after he shared his plans on LinkedIn.
Two AI travel startups both operating under the name Soar are locked in a dispute after one founder says the other copied his idea, according to Business Insider.
Stanley Virgint, 26, had been building an AI travel companion startup called Soar and discussing it over LinkedIn messages with Henry Langmack, who asked about the product and said he was on its waitlist. The next day, Langmack launched his own flight-booking startup, also named Soar, using a similar small-plane logo. Virgint asked Langmack to rebrand, calling it a copycat, but said the dispute "didn't resolve quickly."
While Virgint kept building his product, Langmack and cofounder Alex Slater pushed their version of Soar into wider visibility with heavy marketing spending, including branding a Cybertruck with their logo.
