Trump Says He's Banning MS NOW, CNN and Politico From White House
The president cited what he called fictional reporting and said more outlets could follow.
President Donald Trump said Friday he is banning MS NOW, CNN and Politico from the White House, calling the move effective immediately, according to Business Insider.
On Truth Social, Trump said media outlets shouldn't be able to constantly report what he called fiction and lies about the president, and warned that other outlets he described as fake news could face similar bans.
Business Insider reports the move follows earlier restrictions placed on reporters covering the Pentagon and marks an escalation in Trump's tension with the press.
CNN said its White House reporters remained in their workspace near the briefing room as of the outlet's report. A CNN spokesperson said the network stands behind its reporting and argued an enforced ban would be an illegal assault on its constitutional right to report without government interference.
