Spain-Based Mother Took 20% Pay Cut For 73 Extra Days Off Over Summer
She traded a chunk of her salary for time off during Spain's 12-week school break with four kids under 5.
A mother of four in Spain took a 20% pay cut for eight months in exchange for 73 additional days off so she could spend her children's entire 12-week summer break with them, according to Business Insider.
Her maternity leave after her fourth child was ending just as Spain's school break began, running from June 20 to Sept. 8, with no school for her 4-year-old twins. Monthly expenses had already climbed with a newborn in the house, but she decided the trade-off was worth it for the extra time with her children.
