Couple Saves $33,000 By Replacing Rotting Deck With Stone Patio
The Connecticut homeowners spent $27,000 on the patio after moving from Manhattan to a 1980s fixer-upper in 2023.
A Connecticut couple saved about $33,000 by tearing out their home's old wooden deck and replacing it with a stone patio for $27,000, according to Business Insider.
The couple moved from Manhattan to a Connecticut suburb in 2023 and bought a fixer-upper built in the 1980s, complete with linoleum kitchen floors and a creaky wooden deck. After spending three years renovating the interior, they turned to the outdoor space, which they said was too small for entertaining.
They initially patched up the deck with an outdoor rug, sofa, chairs and umbrellas before committing to the full patio replacement, which they now call one of the best investments in their renovation.
